Destination Lyons:
As part-time Lyons residents (who will be full-time residents eventually), we're
glad to see that the Lyons webcam will continue and
also glad to see that the Destination Lyons site will be used as a community
news and events website.
We check the webcam daily to see what conditions are like at our Colorado home and
to enjoy a view from afar. In the past, we used the Recorder to keep up with local issues and
events.
With the newspaper business and economy not being in very good shape these days,
it may be that a low-overhead community news and events website is what will work
for a town of Lyons' size. We hope local businesses will use the site as an advertising
medium to reach their potential customers and to support a vital part of any
small town: a place where residents can keep up with what's going on in the community.
Thanks to Greg Berman for his efforts to maintain the webcam (which we've recommended
to many friends & relatives as a way to "check out Lyons") & start a community website.
